5 Tips for helping with Time and Work Management within a Business

Do you find it increasingly difficult to manage your time? Do you find it almost impossible to get on
top of all the things you need to do in a day? It can be hard to stay on top of your game but if you
follow these helpful recommendations then you may find the whole thing a little easier.

Setup a work plan

Why not create a spreadsheet that enables you to tabulate everything you have to get done that day? If you do this you will be able to allocate jobs to blocks of time and you can ensure that you have given yourself enough time to get things done. You can also help yourself order your day to make the most of your limited time.

Make sure you take enough breaks for yourself

Schedule breaks to make sure that you get enough time to yourself. Sometimes when we are busy we can forget to take an appropriate amount of time to eat our lunch, for instance. Have a think about when you are at your most productive.

Think about what time of day you get the most done

People achieve more at different points in time throughout the day, and you may be someone who gets more done in the morning. If this is the case then make sure you set aside time for the most important jobs during the morning time. If you can do this then you will find that you get so much more out of your day than you would have done otherwise. Keep the latter part of the day for your least challenging tasks as you will be less alert and less able to cope with difficult jobs.

Setup a good location to work from

Think about the location too because some jobs may be easier for you to get done in certain places. It may be
easier for you to get some reading work done sat at a desk near a window than sat in a corner in the shade, for instance.

Get rid of all distractions

Avoid things that might get in the way of you completing everything you need to. There are distractions that will prevent you from being productive, like emails and phone calls, or text messages. For this reason it might be wise to section a part of your day to take a break and catch up with your messages then rather than allow yourself to be accessible all day. If you can do this for yourself you will find that your time is managed more efficiently and you become naturally more productive throughout your working day.
