Biomass Stoves

Biomass Stoves come in all shapes and sizes and can be placed in any home as a center piece heating unit.

They efficiently burn biomass wood-pellets and have a 99.7% burn rate of fuel, which means ash residue is minimal. Biomass Stoves can even be placed in mobile homes. Biomass stoves are a natural, affordable heat source. With fossil fuel prices rising now, the demand for alternative heating will rise considerably in the near future with biomass stoves just as effective in heating your spaces, at a fraction of the cost.

Wood-pellets are one of cheapest fuel sources on the market today.

Biomass Stoves

Biomass stoves are designed to burn one type of biomass such as corn or wood-pellets each burning as efficiently as the other. Depending on which fuel is more conveniently sourced would be a factor on which stove is chosen. Automatic pellet stoves typically range from 6 to 12 kW in heat output, with efficiencies of over 90%, and are ideal to heating a single large room. The systems are stand-alone, come in a range of styles and produce an attractive flame. Features generally include automatic ignition, combustion and convection fans and a large integral hopper built into the back of the stove, which can hold sufficient pellets for between 20 and 40 hours operation

Canada is currently producing over a million tones of wood-pellets every year and that number is expected to double over the next two years as the demand for biomass stoves and heating systems rise due to the high cost of fossil fuel heating. Sweden produces over one and a half million tones annually.

Biomass stoves burn fuel in the same fashion as conventional heating appliances do only more efficiently. This is due to the compact size of the fuel-pellets and the high burn rate with only .3% ash residue. This leaves minimum maintenance and maximum comfort.
