Wind
From the 28-02-2007 the exemption from planning is permitted for the installation of wind turbines
not exceeding a mast height of 10mtrs and wind turbine blade overall diameter not exceeding 6mtrs.
The wind turbine must be its own overall height including pole and blade to tip plus 1 meter away from site boundaries.
Solar
Installation of solar panels on roofs is exempt from planning as long as the array does not exceed
12square meters or 50% of the roof area or which ever is the lesser.
Stand alone solar panels (not roof mounted) up to 12 square meters not exceeding a height of two meters and
being behind the front wall of the house leaving a minimum of 25 square meters of usable ground space of site.
