and the depletion of fossil fuels. Up until recently energy and environment issues were not
taken as serious as they are today.

This is due to the realization that governments must finally pay attention regarding CO2 emissions in the
environment and the impending peak oil scenario. It is some of these reasons why a major change in attitude is
required to properly assess the issues we face regarding energy and the environment.

The technological and scientific aspects of energy and environment questions including energy conservation, and the interaction of energy forms and systems with the physical environment, need to be addressed, including the relationship
of such questions to wider economic and socio-political issues.

The Energy and environment are essential for sustainable development. The poor are the most vulnerable and are impacted the most when it comes to access to clean water and decent living conditions. The high cost of fuels and the higher demand all contribute to a chain reaction in world markets that affects everyone. Issues like these need to be address on a global scale if any thing worthwhile is to be done.

Energy use presents a special set of challenges to the world. While energy and materials lie at the heart of satisfying important human needs and driving economic development they also influence many environmental issues. It is also becoming apparent that our reliance on cheap fossil fuel energy is coming to an abrupt end.


When this happens our governments must invest into affordable alternative means of energy  that is affordable to all that require it.
