From the moment we rise in the morning, until we go to bed in the evening, being aware of energy
conservation will not only save money on high electricity and heating bills but will contribute to helping our environment.
With the environmental issues that we face today at the forefront of everyone’s minds, energy conservation
along with education has never been so important.
Everyone can and must play a role in energy conservation. Starting with conserving all forms
of fossil fuels that we use,
a change of attitude would contribute to preventing climate changes that is becoming more apparent with
unseasonable weather throughout the world.
This also helps to reduce the price of energy production and in turn reduces the need for new power plants and
the requirement for importing expensive energy from abroad. The reduced strain on our power grids
also means less CO2 emissions and the benefit of reduced energy production.
Energy conservation plays an important role in lessening climate change. It facilitates the replacement of fossil fuel produced electricity with renewable energy. Energy conservation is often the best solution to energy shortages and is environmentally beneficial to everyone.
In a number of countries carpooling is encouraged and in some cases rewarded by high occupancy car-only lanes to reduce commuter traffic at rush hour. If this policy became more common throughout the world, it would contribute in conserving the depleted petrol reserves that we face in the future. In the U.S alone, 40% of all daily traffic is down to traveling to and from the work place. Many urban areas offer subsidised public transportation to reduce commuting traffic.
